How To Win The Nobel Peace Prize In Only 12 Days

Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize this morning. Over the last decade the only requirement to win the prize was that the nominee had to be critical of George W. Bush (see Al Gore, Mohamed ElBaradei and Jimmy Carter).

President Obama has broken new ground here. Nominations to win the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize ended February 1. The President took office only 12 days early on January 20.

Let’s take a look at the President’s first 12 days in office from his publicized schedule to see what he did to deserve a Nobel Peace Prize:

January 20: Went to a parade. Partied.

January 21: Asked bureaucrats to re-write guidelines for information requests. Held an “open house” party at the White House.

January 22: Signed Executive Orders: Executive Branch workers to take ethics pledge; Re-affirmed Army Field Manuel Techniques for Interrogations; Expressed desire to close Gitmo (how’s that working out?);

January 23: Ordered the release of federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries. Lunch with Joe Biden; met with Tim Geithner.

January 24: Budget meeting with economic team.

January 25: Skipped church.

January 26: Gave speech about jobs and energy. Met with Hillary Clinton. Attended Geithner swearing in ceremony.

January 27: Met with Republicans. Spoke at a clock tower in Ohio.

January 28: Economic meetings in the morning, met with Defense secretary in the afternoon.

January 29: Signed Ledbetter Bill overturning US Supreme Court decision on lawsuits over wages. Party in the State Room. Met with Biden.

January 30: Met economic advisors. Gave speech on Middle Class Working Families Task Force. Met with senior enlisted military officials.

January 31: Took the day off.

February 1: Skipped church. Threw a Super Bowl party.

So there you have it. The short path to the Nobel Peace Prize: Party, go to meetings, skip church, abort some fetuses, party some more.

Good grief.

Polititions Not Telling The Truth

Coral Ridge Ministries Alert

Congress Needs to Hear From You – Now!
A special message from Robert Knight

While Rep. Joe Wilson’s (R-S.C) outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama’s speech Wednesday night to Congress on health care wasn’t the most diplomatic statement, the president indeed made many claims that cannot withstand scrutiny.

Let’s take a look at just a few:

"Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have. Let me repeat this: nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have."

Several studies report that the proposal will cause millions to lose the coverage they have now. The Urban Institute estimates 47 million, and the Lewin Group as many as 114 million. That’s because Obama’s "public option" or co-ops and related schemes will quickly destroy the private insurance market.

"There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false—the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally."

None of the bills requires people to verify their citizenship or identity before receiving taxpayer-subsidized benefits. Besides, proponents claim that "47 to 50 million Americans are without health insurance." That figure includes up to 11 million illegal aliens.

"Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place."

The National Right to Life Committee has shown explicitly how the bill will lead to federal funds paying for abortions through any government-run health plan. For one thing, the Hyde Amendment, which bars federal funds for abortion, would not apply to the areas where the health funds would be disbursed. "As the Associated Press accurately reported in its August 5, 2009, analysis, ‘A law called the Hyde amendment applies the [abortion] restrictions to Medicaid . . . [But] The health overhaul would create a stream of federal funding not covered by the restrictions.’"

"I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits—either now or in the future. Period."

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that ObamaCare would increase the federal deficit by $239 billion over 10 years and "would probably generate substantial increases in federal budget deficits" thereafter. A study by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation released this week found that after a decade, ObamaCare would increase federal deficits by another $1 trillion.

Stop this Madness in the Making!

The Wall Street Journal editorial page, which has had a tutorial nearly every day about what is actually in the 1,013-page House bill and the new Senate "compromise" version offered by Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), summarized the president’s Wednesday night goal:

"Mr. Obama's speech was less about persuading the public than it was a political pep talk to this Beltway constituency. He hopes to buy enough political breathing space with a bump in the polls—however short-lived—to steel their nerves to power ObamaCare into law. The only way to stop it now is with a giant wave of popular opposition."

That’s why I hope you’ll tell your congressman and senators that you don’t want any of the current proposals and for them to start over, period!

The congressional switchboard number is (202) 224-3121 or (202) 225-3121. Please call or email your representative and senators now to voice opposition to this dangerous bill. To reach your House member, please click here. To reach your senators, please click here.

You can get a clear idea of what’s at stake in the health care debate when you request the new video from Coral Ridge Ministries, The Health Care Lie! It tells you why the proposed government health care takeover will mean federals deficits, as well as the delay or denial of needed health care. To request this video, please click here.

I hope will request this powerful resource. And, remember, your financial gift to help Coral Ridge Ministries makes it possible to present the truth about this issue and the Good News of forgiveness and eternal life through Christ.

Thank you for standing with us!

Let Your Voice Be Heard

US: North Korea loading rocket on launch pad. This coming from AP .
WASHINGTON – North Korea is loading a Taepodong rocket on its east coast launch pad in anticipation of the launch of a communications satellite early next month, U.S. officials say. U.S. counterproliferation and intelligence officials have confirmed Japanese news reports of the expected launch between April 4 and 8.

North Korea announced its intention to launch the satellite in February. Regional powers worry the claim is a cover for the launch of a long-range missile capable of reaching Alaska. National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair said earlier this month that all indications suggest North Korea will in fact launch a satellite.

Our country is going to let other countries do what they want because of our invasion of Iraq.
Our leaders are leading our country down a slippery slop and they have no idea when to put on the breaks to slow down the advancement of countries with the goal of destroying the US along with Israel and any other country that do not believe as they do. Politically correct has gone to far. Our enemies have no rules of engagement. Why should they? The United Nations is a joke and I cannot see how all those people in the UN can actually believe what they are doing with warnings and sanctions after sanctions are actually doing anything whatsoever. As a poor 45 year old man I wonder if anyone thinks that we are going in the right direction? Evidently our leaders think we are. But how long do you think it will be before we, the people, have no voice at all? The electoral vote is a prime example. But we continue to believe that our government is making the best decisions for our country.
Wake up and smell the stink all around you. Each of us have a voice. Let, make, it be heard!

Obama, McCain, Fox News, And One News Now

This poll should have been worded different. It gives the impression that Fox News is against Obama. And when you get right down to it I think that Fox is starting to play the game, not as bad as the other networks, but still is getting drawn into trying to take up for McCain. He needs more unbiased coverage but it is not the job of Fox to take it to far to the right.

The media needs to stick with the facts and leave the biased comments to the public.

My opinion is that most people that watch Fox News is watching it to get the news reported as it should be. But it is a slippery slop when questions like the ones in this poll are asked like this.

Let me state that the poll I am referring to is at http://www.onenewsnow.com/ not Fox.

A poll like this one on another news organization replacing Obama with McCain would get the same response. The only difference McCain would be where Obama is in this one. And Fox News would be replaced with the other news organization

One other point to make is that this poll is like most of of the other ones taken anywhere. There are only 27083 responses out of a population of 301,139,947 in the U.S. (July 2007 est.)

This is only 9% of the population of the U.S.

So tell me, how could any of these polls, on any station, really give anyone any type of useful information?

I am right and everyone else is stupid in the persons opinion that does polls like this. Take a deep breath. Breath in the nose and out the mouth. Calm down and regroup.

Here are the results so far.

Voters watch FOX News because they do not support Barack Obama - 88.68%
Voters do not support Barack Obama because they watch Fox News - 11.32%
27083 responses

This poll is at http://www.onenewsnow.com/

I would like to personally thank them for this useless information. Like we don't get enough information that is not worth the time to read or to watch on T.V.

Thanks Again

Response from Congressman John Yarmuth

I wrote a letter in response to Res. 847 coming up for a vote. The Representative sent me the response below and I sent him one back. I hope I have put all this together where it makes sense to all.

House passes H. Res. 847: Recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith

SOURCE: Govtrack.us

These folks seem to have mixed up their holiday cheer with their oath to uphold the US Constitution. Separation of Church and State? It's only one Constitutional tenet that Congress throws to the wind these days. NH Congressional Reps Shea Porter and Hodes both voted to pass this crazy bill, voted under suspension of the rules to cut debate and allow quick passage. Do they have nothing better to do in Washington?

Here is the text of the bill.

Whereas Christmas, a holiday of great significance to Americans and many other cultures and nationalities, is celebrated annually by Christians throughout the United States and the world;

Whereas there are approximately 225,000,000 Christians in the United States, making Christianity the religion of over three-fourths of the American population;

Whereas there are approximately 2,000,000,000 Christians throughout the world, making Christianity the largest religion in the world and the religion of about one-third of the world population;

Whereas Christians and Christianity have contributed greatly to the development of western civilization;

Whereas the United States, being founded as a constitutional republic in the traditions of western civilization, finds much in its history that points observers back to its Judeo-Christian roots;

Whereas on December 25 of each calendar year, American Christians observe Christmas, the holiday celebrating the birth of their savior, Jesus Christ;

Whereas for Christians, Christmas is celebrated as a recognition of God's redemption, mercy, and Grace; and

Whereas many Christians and non-Christians throughout the United States and the rest of the world, celebrate Christmas as a time to serve others: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives--

(1) recognizes the Christian faith as one of the great religions of the world;

(2) expresses continued support for Christians in the United States and worldwide;

(3) acknowledges the international religious and historical importance of Christmas and the Christian faith;

(4) acknowledges and supports the role played by Christians and Christianity in the founding of the United States and in the formation of the western civilization;

(5) rejects bigotry and persecution directed against Christians, both in the United States and worldwide; and

(6) expresses its deepest respect to American Christians and Christians throughout the world.

Rep. John Yarmuth response:

"Rep. John Yarmuth" <RepJohnYarmuth@mail.house.gov> wrote:
Thank you for the opportunity to discuss my vote on H.Res. 847. As you know, that resolution expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that Christmas and Christianity are significant factors in the history and culture of America. Just like virtually every other member of the House, I completely agree with the sentiments expressed in the Christmas resolution. However, I was concerned that this measure trivialized a holiday that is so sacred to the vast majority of American families— and I voted “Present” as a way of expressing my reservations about diminishing Christmas.
Nearly everyday, Congress passes resolutions for events such as National Watermelon Month, Marina Day, and— yes— Ramadan, all of which are not ingrained in the history of American culture. We have not considered resolutions for Thanksgiving, Easter, Memorial Day or the 4th of July, which are intrinsically part of America, and it is my feeling that Christmas clearly falls into this category.
I intended my vote to be respectful of Christmas and Christians, but I understand that some interpreted it differently. I’ve celebrated Christmas all my life, and some of my best memories both as a child and a parent are of waking up Christmas morning and unwrapping presents under our family tree. I continued that tradition with my family again this year.
Once again, thank you for giving me the chance to explain my thinking, and I hope you and yours had a very Merry Christmas and are enjoying the Happy New Year.
Sincerely,
John Yarmuth
Member of Congress

Dear Sir,
You say below that you did not want to trivialize a holiday yet you do not even name the holiday that you are talking about. Could it be that the holiday you are concerned about is not one of the majority, whether that has anything to do with this or not, I would say that it does not matter if the holiday was of a majority or not. What matters is the authenticity of the holiday and your true and honest belief. America acknowledges Christmas as a national Holiday. Has everyone forgotten that? I am so tired of the, so called, leaders of our country looking like they have no backbone at all. We need leaders that will stand up for what they believe and not stand up for simply what you think people want to here or just take the middle of the road as you have done. What is wrong with having principles of your own that does not depend on what others may think? Are some of our leaders actually not leaders at all? I would ask each and everyone of you to take a good look at your responsibilities and just how important they are to this country. You are not working in a factory where you can simply show up and put no thought at all in the process. All of you chose to be where you are today. Act like it for a change. Everyone is wanting a change in our leadership, well make one. Go back to the basics. True self moral standards apply. You do know right from wrong and if you all think that by not taking a stand you are getting by you are wrong. One day right will prevail and wrong will disappear. Just do the right thing.

In short I think that your response is weak and insulting, even to me.

Take a look at part of their ethics manual below. I have highlighted some key points in red.

ETHICS MANUAL FOR MEMBERS, OFFICERS, AND EMPLOYEES OF THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Please note: This document is to be used for reference purposes only. The printed manual is the official version.

The Committee is in the process of revising and updating this Manual, which was published in 1992. On any subject, both the Manual and the Committee's advisory memoranda should be consulted. The advisory memoranda are organized by subject in the Highlights of the Ethics Rules.

Read number one below. It is talking about credibility.
Worthy of being believed: believable, colorable, credible, plausible. See true/false.”
This definition comes from: http://www.answers.com/creditably&r=67
Then it goes on talking more of financial responsibility than moral responsibility. There was probably a reason for that, you think?

2. A Member, officer, or employee of the House of Representatives shall adhere to the spirit and the letter of the Rules of the House of Representatives and to the rules of duly constituted committees thereof.

8. Never use any information coming to him confidentially in the performance of governmental duties as a means for making private profit.

10. Uphold these principles, ever conscious that public office is a public trust.

Nicotine Declared As Addictive as Heroin, Cocaine

May 16, 1988: Nicotine Declared As Addictive as Heroin, Cocaine.
Nicotine serves as the tobacco plant’s natural defense against insects and, in its pure form, is more poisonous than either strychnine or arsenic. Its chemical structure is similar to acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, giving it easy access to the brain’s reward and pleasure pathways. Click here for a fuller description of nicotine addiction.

I wonder why tobacco is not marked illegal as heroin and cocaine are?

Could it be that so many people in the government are making a ton of money from tobacco which, in turn, people dying from lung cancer?

Drugs and Terrorism

There are parents that worry daily if their children will come home or not. They worry whether their child will die due to an overdose or due to the violence related to it. This is terrorism in America also. These are drugs. They are a constant and real threat to our national security. Drugs are being brought in by the tons. If drugs can be why not explosives? Drugs are being brought into our country at an alarming rate. This also makes you think about what else is getting in and no one knowing about it.

A drug smuggler from another country is given immunity and citizenship here in America for testifying for our government against our government agents trying to secure the boarders. Is there nothing wrong with this? The smuggler after being set free was caught again bringing drugs into our country.

This is just the latest story that has been found out by the media. Every single day there are drugs coming into the U.S.A. These drugs do our country tremendous harm and break apart the very fibers of our country. With so much surveillance going on one would think that the drug supply to America could be cut off completely. Also the ones in America manufacturing drugs could be shut down. The truth is there is to much money being made from these illegal activities that it is even enough to corrupt many officials. Here is one: Border Agents: 6 Years for Taking Bribes

The Crimes of Mena is an interesting article concerning our government involved in drug smuggling. Who would have ever thought?

The manufacturing, smuggling, and growing of drugs has been going on long enough. Our country needs to do something about it. But it can start with you. Just as you are vigilant in looking out for terrorists be just as vigilant against drug dealers. Drugs are like high blood pressure, if it goes untreated it could kill you.

Drugs have been a part of this country and its problems for decades. Violent crimes have been associated with drugs. Here is an option for our borders: Pakistan to Use Mines to Stop Militants
If our border agents cannot do their job and secure our borders then why not use the Pakistan way to do it? Yes, it is that bad and has been for a long time.

Why is it that the government can keep us safe from terrorists but not drug smugglers?
