Letter from Patty Compean wife of imprisoned border agent

From the Desk of:Steve Elliott, Grassfire.org Alliance

Dear Mr. Elliott,

Thank you so much for your continued support. I must tell you
that the children and I are hanging in there. Our last visit
with Jose was a very good one, although I couldn’t help but
wonder how our youngest, who is now 2 years old would react to Jose.

Even though he's never met Jose and has very little connection
with him, I try to make sure that both our boys don't forget who
their dad is. I show him pictures of his dad and constantly tell
him that Jose is his dad.

When that time of the month comes for our 15-minute call, I
always make certain he hears Jose's voice. I’m happy to report
that my efforts seem to be blessed because during this last
visit, my young son knew Jose was his dad. My heart nearly
burst when he called him dad and gave him a hug. These tiny
moments are the ones that we savor because unlike so many
others, they are all we have right now.

This last visit was such a blessing because it was our first
as a family since his incarceration, and Jose was able to
spend some quality time as father to his kids.

It has been tough. Jose, the kids and I are still trying to cope
with leaving him behind. I've got to admit, it doesn't get any
easier. In fact, it seems to get worse with every visit because
it's a cold reminder of how much time has been lost. These
precious family moments can’t be returned or relived. That's
the hardest part.

This truth is especially tough on Jose. When he turned himself
in to authorities, our children where 12, 2 and 3 months old.
Now they are 14, 4, and 2. He's already missed the first baby
steps, words, graduation from diaper to potty and my oldest son's
first dance. Unless there’s a miracle, Jose will have missed a
whole lot more.

But we are pressing on day by day. My goal right now is to get
the family to a place where no matter what happens we will be
okay. In other words, if Jose is released but can't find a job,
or if he’s forced to serve his whole sentence we will be taken
care of. That's a pressing concern, but it’s also something I
don't want Jose worrying about. I will make sure that I can
provide for us so that he doesn't have to worry about it. It's
my burden, and I'm happy to take it from him.

A few personal notes, Jose is able to shower daily since he has
a shower in his "suite" and the times he's needed medical attention
he's gotten it. I do know that he has several pen pals and is
receiving letters, cards, pictures and reading material from
many Grassfire team members. He specifically wanted me to thank
the team for their continued support and prays that it continues.

We all covet your prayers, and pin our hopes on the day when he is
returned to us!

Thanks again for all you are doing to help us.

Patty

Don't Forget Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean

Two U.S. Border Patrol Agents are serving decade longprison terms for attempting to apprehend a known drugsmuggler for illegally crossing our border with more than 700lbs. of drugs! Almost as outrageous is that the illegal alien drugsmuggler, who was given free medical care, and immunityfor testifying against the agents is now suing the U.S. for$5 million--claiming his civil rights were violated! I have just signed a petition calling for the Presidentto pardon these two Border Agents and I'm asking you tojoin with me by clicking here for the full story and the petition:http://www.grassfire.org/142/petition.asp?PID=12080678&NID=1

Thanks!

Arrest of Osvaldo Aldrete-Davilla

*** BREAKING NEWS:
*** Arrest of Osvaldo Aldrete-Davilla prompts calls
for immediate release of Ramos and Compean.
Action Item below

Osvaldo Alrete-Davila, the drug smuggler whose testimony put
two decorated border agents in prison has been arrested for a
second marijuana load, and has lawmakers screaming for the
immediate release of Ramos and Compean!

In fact, at least two Congressmen are calling for a probe of
the U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton--who suppressed key evidence
in the case, gave this life-long smuggler medical attention
and immunity to bring more poison into the U.S.

Even though the appeal for Ramos and Compean is less than
two weeks away, Grassfire is joining key lawmakers who are
demanding Ramos and Compean be set free now!

We are urging EVERY member of our team to take
immediate action by sending personalized faxes to the President,
key Administration and other key personalities to

BRING RAMOS AND COMPEAN HOME!

http://www.grassfire.org/9142/offer.asp?rid=12080678

This development is so compelling we are also calling for a full
investigation into Johnny Sutton’s behavior, and how he went to
outrageous lengths to protect the civil rights of an illegal
alien drug smuggler while turning a deaf ear and blind eye to
the truth about this case and the two innocent men who are now
serving decade long prison terms in solitary confinement.

Send a personal message to all those involved to release Ramos
and Compean by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.org/9142/offer.asp?rid=12080678

This is our best chance to get our message heard,
and we must take full advantage of it by deluging these offices
with personal faxes calling for an immediate release.

To schedule your personalized faxes, simply click below, or if
you prefer not to use our FaxFire technology, send them yourself
by downloading our letters, and targets. Simply click here:

I think Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) said it best about this case.
"Sutton chose the wrong side of the border war. Now Ramos and Compean
are in jail based on what we know is the testimony of a professional
drug smuggler."

Help us bring Ramos and Compean home for Christmas by scheduling
your faxes right now:

Thanks so much for helping Grassfire right this tragic wrong!

PS: The border agent issue truly affects every American. That
is why after scheduling your FaxFire faxes I urge you to forward
this message to your friends urging them to take action as well!

T.V. Campaign For Ramos and Compean

Grassfire's television campaign calling on the President
to free imprisoned border agents Ramos and Compean is
ready to debut this weekend in Washington, D.C!

If you haven't yet seen these incredible spots, click here:

http://www.grassfire.org/5142/offer.asp?rid=12080678

Michael, beginning Sunday morning, FOX, CNN and MSNBC
will begin airing the 30 and 60 second spots that were
created by our friends at RapidResponse Media.

Already posted on the Internet, our ads have touched off
a tremendous buzz across the nation...imagine the response
when they are airing in our nation’s capital! I have no
doubt it will increase the furor to free Ramos and Compean
to a fever pitch...

But to ensure that we can maintain this level of intensity--
which I believe will motivate the President to do the right
thing, I need the help of every member of our team, Michael.

Please help us expand our outreach beyond DC and across
the country by clicking here:

A gift of any amount will make a great impact in
helping Grassfire air these ads and continue other
vital efforts. Go here:

+ + Most Americans haven’t heard the Ramos/Compean story

While it may seem hard to believe, the vast
majority of Americans have no idea of the injustice done
to Ramos and Compean.

Yesterday, while working to place the ads in DC, an
advertising representative asked Ron De Jong about Ramos
and Compean. After Ron explained how our nation had
betrayed these agents and given preferential treatment
to a life-long, illegal alien drug smuggler for his
testimony against two border agents (treatment that
included a green card, free medical care and immunity),
the representative became incensed.

"How come I never heard about this? This is so wrong!" he said.

That is why we need to take this message across the nation,
Michael. So many people have never heard about this
tragedy.

Help me get this story out to the nation by making a
special gift of any amount. Simply click here to:

On behalf of agents Ramos and Compean, thank you for your
outstanding support!

Steve Elliott, President
Grassfire.org Alliance

P.S. We just received a call from America's Most Wanted, and
they are doing a show featuring the amazing grassroots support
being generated for these agents. I am scheduled to appear on
the show this Saturday night! More details to follow.
